A Recap of the Randy Jones Foundations Accomplishments 2018-present
- RJF has provided youth sports grants for our military families. Youth travel ball is at an all-time high. Our grants are designed to provide financial assistance to help just a few kids reach their full potential.
2019: 10 Youth Athletic Grants totaling $55,000
2020: 12 Youth Athletic Grants totaling $42,000
2021: 12 Youth Athletic Grants totaling $42,000
2022: 12 Youth Athletic Grants totaling $38,000
2023: 9 Youth Athletic Grants totaling $27,000
2024: 4 Youth Athletic Grants totaling $12,000
- 800+ Kids and Parents Given an Exclusive VIP Padre Experience with Randy Jones
800+ (Parents & Kids) have been given an exclusive VIP Padre experience with Randy Jones. Each of these VIP experiences would cost in excess of $300 per, ($240,000 total through 2024). Randy walks them through the club house directly down onto the field, players & coaches make themselves available for pictures and autographs during the Padre batting practice, at the conclusion of batting practice it’s time for dinner at Randy’s famous BBQ, best of all Randy joins them for one-on-one conversations where Randy shares some of his favorite stories growing up and his magical 1976 Cy Young Year. Now it's time for the ballgame where everyone is treated to field-level seats to watch a Padres game. - 375 Kids and Parents Treated to Deep Sea Fishing Trips
375 (Parents & Kids) have been treated to a Deep-Sea Fishing trip with Randy Jones. The chartered boat departs from Point Loma & heads out to sea for a half-day of fun. All the tackle, poles, bait, one-on-one instructions, lunch & beverages are provided. Randy also engages in one-on-one conversations, sharing his favorite stories. - Education Workshops & Other Events
Other programs include educational workshops with Sony Interactive, teaching kids about the world of computers & gaming. - Partnership with NCSA
In 2019, the Foundation partnered with NCSA (Next College Student Athlete) to offer no-cost programs, including online portals and one-on-one tutoring, for our kids aged 13 and older, preparing them to become college athletes. This program can cost as much as $5,000 per child. We have opened this up to qualified kids at no cost to the families. - Camps
Randy has provided baseball and golf camps for over 200 inner-city and military kids, offering each participant individual instruction, teaching them the fundamentals, advanced skills, and, most importantly, emphasizing that sportsmanship and hard work are essential for success. (Learning how to fail and how to then pick yourself up is one of Randy's favorite teaching lessons.) - American Legion Baseball
RJF is proud to support the resurgence of American Legion Baseball here in San Diego, spearheaded by Rolf Ohnstad, providing hundreds of kids with an organized summer program, the oldest active youth baseball organization in the nation. - Randy's Support
Randy continues to support the Padres, our community, and all San Diego charities. Randy has made countless appearances, supporting the Padres, our military, and other charitable organizations throughout all of San Diego County, all in an effort to raise more awareness and dollars for charitable organizations.
