Playing volleyball has taught her about trust and the importance of good relationships. She knows a shared commitment to communication and coordination are key to making the team great.
Academically, Ellie strives to maintain a high GPA that has opened many doors for her, including the privilege of regularly playing and competing in her favorite sport.
Ellie was nominated by her father, Arron Leverman, who feels fortunate to have been stationed in San Diego for his entire 20 years serving in the U.S. Navy and now works successfully in defense contracting. Ellie, her parents and two siblings believe that miracles happen, and this includes the Randy Jones Foundation Scholarship.

On the volleyball court, our main focus is talking and moving as one. I have learned what it
takes to be in sync with my teammates: acting in ways that are good for the whole team and not
just for me. (Ellie Leverman)
