PEYTON DOWDY
Name: Peyton Dowdy
Age: 12
Sport & Organization: Girls Fastpitch Softball - The Factory Fastpitch Organization
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Scholarship Date: January 1, 2018
Like many young athletes, Peyton was first interested in Softball as an opportunity to spend time with her friends outside of school, but over time, she fell in love with the sport. On the field, she feels focused, motivated, and that she can be herself. And the best part is she gets to play on a team while making new friends.
With this scholarship, Peyton can continue her efforts to reach her fullest potential as a softball player. Her goal is to improve her game by participating in pitching and batting training, which she is signed up for this year.
Peyton was nominated by her father, Bryan Dowdy, who proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 16 years. Honesty, dedication, integrity, and resilience are just a few of the lessons that Peyton has learned from being a Military child. These lessons have helped pave the way towards a 4.0 GPA and continuous improvement as a softball athlete.
