Lydia plays softball at Power Surge Softball Club in San Diego and has shown through practice, skill and performance that she has what it takes to be a college athlete. She is not only committed to doing her best as a member of a team playing competitively on the field, but also academically, where she attends advanced classes and maintains a high GPA. School is Lydia’s number one priority.
Lydia’s father, Chris Firkins, nominated her and has served in the U.S. Navy where he was on sea duty and deployed twice to the Persian Gulf. Lydia’s parents see her athletic talent and want her to keep growing as a softball player. The Randy Jones Foundation Scholarship allows Lydia to take advantage of a travel ball opportunity that will help her reach new heights in softball, and also, to make it to all of her softball tournaments.
