GRACIE guy
Name: Gracie Guy
Age: 15
Sport & Organization: Volleyball - WAVE Volleyball Club
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Scholarship Date: January 1, 2018
Gracie is a standout volleyball player and teammate who aspires to continue playing volleyball in college, and dreams of also playing professionally, with the possibility of working as a coach. She credits the sport with giving her tools to succeed in life, including self-discipline and personal strength.
Commitment and hard work have carried Gracie far as she strives to excel in both athletics and academics. Her high standards have made her an ideal role model for her peers, as well as her three younger siblings. Gracie has learned firsthand the rewards of consistently showing up and giving it your all.
Gracie was nominated by her father, Jason Guy, who is currently on active duty serving in the U.S. Navy. He is often deployed for months at a time, far from home. Her parents recognize Gracie’s selflessness when it comes to family responsibilities, and they want nothing more than to see her reach a life-goal about which she is truly passionate. The sky is the limit for this resilient young woman and the Randy Jones Foundation Scholarship is one more step on her ladder to success.
* * *
I have always done my best to do well in school and I am continuing to do the same this school year. Since I started playing volleyball, I have given my all, every single minute of every single practice and game. Playing volleyball helps me build courage, patience, and perseverance. Volleyball helps me to pursue my goals and aspirations not only in this season, but in life.
